This installation explored two ideas: minimally-defined space, and presenting artwork in a way that forces a particular body posture in order to view it.
Within a large space, a vertical rectangular space was defined using a projection screen on the ceiling, strings and plumb-bobs hanging from the corners; and an outline on the floor. These very minimal elements were able to establish a space that seemed very physical.
The vertical orientation of this space referenced Gothic architecture, as did the point-of-view of the video looking up through tree branches in a strong wind. To view the video, the viewer was forced into a physical pose that was at once submissive and vulnerable.
