Overview Rendition Tunnel Flags Egg Knots Fence
Flags
This is a bit more enigmatic of a piece than many of the others in the show. The flags are made of paper pulp pressed onto cotton sheets. The paper pulp is made of a recycled news magazine.
I purposefully did not supply an easy explanation to the viewers for this piece. The form itself, was tactilely seductive, visually intrigueing, and lent itself to a number of interpretations. Viewers' interpretations ranged from laundry to semaphore flags to filters. As such, the peices served their real function, as windows into another dimension of thought. One into which viewers willingly stepped.
